Photo Walk-abouts: Understanding Composition Workshop

Workshop: Understanding Composition

2 Hour / 8 Person Max (Click here for full calendar)

Are you looking to hone your skills as a photographer by learning to create striking compositions? In this workshop we will delve into the finer points of composition and learn what elements contribute to strong photographs visually. You will go beyond the rule of thirds to understand how line, form, and color can influence your compositions to create strong visual images. You will learn how camera angle and placement can be altered to create a stronger image. We'll talk about the elements of composition, and then you'll practice on location in the environments of Times Square, Bryant Park, and/or Grand Central Station. This workshop is appropriate for all levels of photographers from beginners to advanced amateurs and for all camera types. It is best if you have an understanding of the functions on your camera but not absolutely necessary.

All workshops will be 2 hours long, limited to 8 participants total and $60. Historical commentary will not be included in the workshops; we will focus solely on photography.
